Beating Frank in the AOWL Season Championship match. I actually didn't like my verse, and sort of felt it was the point between my peak and decline. But to win a season of that league, after investing so much time in this hobby, felt great. Kind of lame, admittedly. But we all post verses for a reason and to see the payoff and the votes and the recognition was a nice feeling.

Before netcees.com crashed, I had an AOWL regular season championship battle with Black that I eventually lost. I was the defending champ but my wins weren't so great, really. The match got tied over and over again, eventually had to be discussion'd for votes. I lost in a close one. But going toe to toe with someone who makes me feel this form of writing is legitimate, especially considering it was early on in my writing career on this site, was validating.

In terms of pure writing pride, it's tough. They're all open mics. First was 'Milk', my first piece here. Kind of weird in content. It's lost to the internet blackhole but I liked writing it, after not texting for 5+ years, effectively virgin to it. Informed my style from then on. Then 'Michael Doopenslooper', which is also lost. It was loosely based on the Batman shooter, but I think it was when I came into my own in terms of an original rhyme style. Then 'Visiting Friends' which is probably my best technically written piece. Then, finally, 'GRIZZLY BEARS' which is probably the best thing I submitted to the open mic. Got robbed of HOF which still bothers me.

This sounds like a lot of bragging but I honestly cringe at 90% of the pieces I write, days after I write them. Plus this whole text thing seems to be seriously dying now so I'm soaking in my mentals.

The best piece I ever wrote for a topical league is a coin flip between that aspergers piece (with the courtroom scenes) in that one short-run league Zyogte ran and 'Sociopath' or some similar title about someone who bemoaned the fellow mourners at his lovers funeral in some season of the AOWL.

Best battle highlight was that bar I had against Destro where ya nigga went like

"Even with your stale delivery you still couldn't deadpan"

So fucking dope.
