If you delete an entire bar before reading the verse, that makes sense. The same is true if you accidentally type the wrong name or reverse the verses for some reason (which would be weird in a regular battle but totally possible in a topical battle).
But it's up to the writer to write the line clearly enough that the voters understand it. In your case, this week, I didn't. No explanation after the fact should make up for that.
