Naively I tell myself that maybe the world isn’t just such a terrible place, and maybe I’m just a pessimist.
Then I wake up to see shit like this. The guy killing his girlfriend was obviously awful. THEN he posted pictures of it just to gain notoriety, but for hundreds of people to support this guy, whether it was sarcastic or not, proves the world is full of shitty people. So, yeah, the world isn’t a shitty place. It’s the people who have fucked everything up. We’re too far gone at this point.
Mass shooters get their face all over every TV station for a couple of weeks after the shooting then people forget about them because there’s been two more mass shootings since then and those guys got equal coverage. This dude wanted his fifteen minutes of fame because that’s all that matters in this world today. “Fame.”
Awhile back a couple scientists working in a lab cured a baby of HIV. Later it turned out the baby wasn’t cured, but at the time they thought they had CURED H I FUCKING V, and it was a two minute segment on the world news. No one cares about good things. Cure HIV and you’re stuck in a news segment between Israel murdering the fuck out of the “evil” Palestinians and a news story on the best dressed on the red carpet. Fuck everything.
The moral of this story is to kill yourself and save the planet.
