Whatever. I'm familiar with a wider variety of musical acts, producers, and artists (and i guess music history) than 90% of people I talk to in college/ my hometown. Especially rap and indie/alternative. It's impossible for me to bridge the gap between discussing music among friends and discussing music on the internet. My friends know too little and the internet knows too much. I dont have it in me to lurk /mu/ to make up for two decades of musical non-participation

So I guess I'm stuck only being able to discuss 2012 onwards


All I wanted to say was that Kendrick's music is uncomfortably marketable, whereas before I enjoyed how he painted a love/hate relationship with how the harsh realities of his childhood affected his life and the lives of his friends and family, then and now.
