Untold it's an opinion editorial (op-ed), so it's meant to be opinionated. I think you're missing the point, though. Not only is he saying that players who smoke weed in the NFL (and there are a lot of them) are NOT abusing it, he's saying they
are abusing pain pills - and are in ways encouraged to do so. These medications are far more corrosive to the human body than weed is. On top of that, testing positive for weed is in the same category as testing positive for opiates and PCP. You can't believe that those are equivalent substances.
Let me ask you: do you think it's fair and reasonable to be tested regularly if you are performing your job duties satisfactorily?
