VERITAS was originally the protagonist of a novel being written by a schizophrenic. After a fire started by a VCR that had the last copy of the unedited Lion King stuck in it burned down the mans mental ward, first responders pulled a bald man out of the collapsing building. He was in no database that the FBI could find, and after sunrise he disappeared into seemingly thin air.
