Why start battling again against people who are going to be easy to beat when you have already beaten the best battlers there are?

If people were really so concerned about getting their ego stroked, it stands to reason that they would battle against lesser talent and win everything, but they don't....they don't battle because there is not adequate competition, and any competition there may be, they have already faced each other multiple times.

I don't think it's about ego, it's about lack of incentive....why even bother when there is no competition and you have already beaten the best?
