word, witty & immaculate, i did mean meters for what it's worth.

i never quite "got" the affinity for long bar, short bar is more closely aligned to 'end rhyme' accentuation and almost every rhyme format we're exposed to since little kids --- even for the sake of structuring the syllable counts short bar makes sense, as we'd see in a classic 10 syllable line sonnet rhyme.

Buuut, I get "free verse" writing, and honestly, if it flows and the punches hit, I personally could care less. Skill should stick out whether or not the enter button is hit after an end rhyme.

I can say though, if anything, I understand arguments FOR short bar far more than I do for 'enforcing' long bar. Again though, the only difference I see between the two is one that wouldn't matter to me when voting on a battle.
