chalk would give you better grip naturally, so your forearms could still be a part of the lift. i'm being somewhat of a hypocrite though as i do use straps for my PRs on deadlifts.
i benched 330 yesterday. was not expecting that but felt good doing the usual routine and beyond 5/3/1 lets you go ahead and do joker sets and PRs if you're feeling it which i love. also no accessory work if you do jokers and FSL. i'm in and out in 30-45 minutes now. fucking awesome.
