First, you have to understand that City Paper is a free newspaper, so its bills are paid 100% by advertising. But this definitely is concerning, particularly the part about asking for employees' social media passwords.
I don't have the time to read the entire thing, but integrity lines obviously have been blurred everywhere. Still, I have never come across an instance of spiking a column, review or story for advertising concerns. We've had columns criticizing major advertisers many times at my stops.
