Honestly tho...id do it for free if i had the time.....but with a job an a kid.....forget it.
lux got 40K an hollow got 20K...most URL kats that are considered top tier are getting 5K or so...the kats at the bottom of the URL ladder that are still on the URL main roster (not PG's) are getting 1K or 1.5K...

at the start up level for it, as a local name, it's not really worth it on a strict time spent vs earnings ratio, true enough...however, music an entertainment is one of those careers where u have to put in a lot of work in the beginning for little to no pay in order to get to a level where u receive adequate compensation...

i may have done my first 10-15 local level battles for free...after that, i got a couple good looks an charge anywhere from 100-200, plus flight an hotel...it should also be noted i've never paid to go out of state, even when i didn't have a solid resume...i just marketed myself as knowing i was worth having my trip covered an i never had a problem with that...

but now i have the URL PG's coming up...if i do well an that battle releases, my market value instantly rises to somewhere around 500 plus flight an hotel...once i get on the main stage i'm lookin at 1K to start an if i keep doing well that number continues to rise...by the time i've had five battles on the main stage i can command 3K plus from the URL...take a kat gettin 5K per battle from smack, he's banking 30K a year off battle rap if he performs once every couple of months...

local leagues might only pay 1K or 1.5K at that point, but it's still pretty good money...u do have to prepare, an that preparation takes place over several weeks, but it's not like ur constantly writing an memorizing an rehearsing...so even if u spent 50 hours writing an rehearsing, plus ur 20 minutes on stage, ur still averaging about $20 an hour for ur time...plus, free vacations to travel the country, lots of exposure for urself as a rapper, an building a fan base u can then monetize with music an merchandise...

so in the beginning, yes, it's not worth it...also, if ur not gonna try to get to the big leagues with it, it's not worth it...before grind time fell apart it was, cuz anybody could get 10K-25K views on any battle cuz it was easy to get in grind time...now, with the vast majority of kats battling in local leagues with subscriber counts of 1K tops, for most kats it's really a loss cuz they never get enough exposure to make any serious waves an they never make it far enough to get paid a worthwhile amount...

for me, i battled frankie wapps, syd vicious, t rex an dizaster within two years of my first battle...i've gotten paid for everything i've done in the past year an my price continues to go up...i've got the plug for URL, i'm headlining the west coast PG's, an i'm battling remyd in june, plus i'm getting paid to go to ibattle in june, i'm gettin paid to go to NYC in march, an i've got something big in the works for september as well...plus, if i do well in the PG's then the URL tournament that BET hosts is a very real possibility, at which point i'll be on air in front of millions of people, an my price goes up even more...plus, i run a battle league, own the youtube channel, an thus profit off all the events i put together (in theory, cuz i've taken losses on events before too)...

so it's worth it if u have the talent to make it to the top an the dedication to tough it out till u get there...
