here's the biggest piece of advise regarding cold weather. Layering is your friend. There is no such thing as being too hot or too cold, but there is a such thing as being properly or improperly dressed. The mindset of respecting mother nature imo is as follows, you're either in compliance with it or out of compliance with it, there is no such thing as beating mother nature. . If you're in compliance with mother nature, you're gonna survive it, if you're out of compliance with mother nature, well you get the point. My respect for mother nature is as simple as this, don't mess with mother nature, for thou art small and biodegradable.
