i never got past the first disc on final fantasy 9. like the first time i got to the world map, it was after some hunt in the city and shit and then your off to go do your thing. i remember those dragon things, in random battles in the world map would just murk the fuck out of me and i couldnt level/didnt level enough prior to having to venture into the world map

9's great. Completely different from the rest. Level up system is simple but creative. I liked all the characters/story.
But yeah, nothing touches 7. Legit GOAT.
