Trouble Will Find You is the first album by The National that I really connect with. Boxer and High Violet were really strong but a bit removed. Trouble Will Find You is stripped down a bit and lets the Devendorf brothers take the lead. High Violet was more the Dessner brothers' album.
As far as Daft Punk, it's worth noting that Random Access Memories is more disco and pop and much, much less techno and EDM.
