You might as well say you're never gonna do a crossword again, only sudoku... Or never gonna play ps3 again, only Xbox.
Making a point of "retiring" from it makes it seem like it is/was a big/serious part of your life, or like you have an addiction... rather than text being just something you enjoy doing sometimes. If you're not enjoying it right now then don't, if you feel like doing it again in the future then do... No need for announcements
