I think pun would be like a Nas success wise, and even development wise. He'd probably would put out like, one album that actually stood up against capitol punishment, but the majority of his work would be alright.

I think the bigger question would be what if Biggie was still alive, not because of skill level or any of that, but because Biggies death sparked Diddys attempt to make mainstream hip hop hits. It was this moment when hip hop went from grit to gold IMO. The goal in Diddys eyes was monetary success in the form of catchy tunes. I don't think Biggie being alive would've magically stopped this transformation, but I do believe it would've been a slower development process for hip hop into the mainstream, meaning that would could've had a different looking hip hop today.
