What if you're winning at the deadline by one, then the next three votes go against you? That sucks.
Anyway, there's an even more logical reason behind not using a win-by-two rule:
From this point forward, there will be official rankings determined by a specific formula. (Mike Wrecka has the details.) Matchups every week will be made based on those rankings. So until all battles are final, we can't move ahead.
Therefore, ties will be settled, but otherwise battles need to be closed as quickly as possible. Otherwise we hold up the league because, unlike in Week 1, we simply cannot move on without knowing the results of every battle.
