And often times is a bit of a exaggerated term. I write for myself, whether me or my counterparts post something with a silly title, or use 'multis all over the place' or write silly braggadocio pieces, it's just that. I've churned out things I would never post on here, just because this is one of the many forums in which I post material. When I was a very young writer and I'd read pieces from writers I thought were just way beyond me, I wish they would post more. I suppose I'm helping someone, out somewhere. (And I'm not taking the 'good ol Samaritan route' either.) There's no ego being protected here, and it's absolutely asinine if you can't see that half of this board doesn't have a over extenuating ego. There was a thread about alpha males, and everybody clamoring over what is and what isn't deemed alpha male-ish for crying out loud.

I do respect that you guys want to get better, and want to recognized for what you do, as is Black. That's respectable. I just think HOF on a site that is based around disses and glorified yo mama jokes is what you would want to get recognized when you're writing as differently as black (my initial point was actually defending him, not on the offensive) Again, I like many battlers here, I think they're cute and are capable of writing in different areas - ones that even stretch as far as- dare I say -NOT RHYMING. (in the least patronizing way possible), Hush, Outlaw, Aero, Orc, I like these guys. I'm obviously posting here for a reason. But because I think HOF is lame doesn't mean I think it's useless. Condoms are lame, but they're not useless.

oh yea dude, i totally think there's a bunch of over-inflated egos - there always has been though. for the most part these boards were built on 'competitive writing' - so it's not surprising... but yea, lots of over-inflated ones for sure -- and way worse than back in the day actually just due to the nature of 'boarding' culture in recent years...

on the 'why do people care about it' tip... shit, i think humanity is warped as fuck in this rewards-based world --- i just don't care what the incentive is. i just dont want potential HOFers having to ask themselves to be nominated anymore -- important or not, deserving or not - it's not a good look.

my post wasnt even directly at you for what its worth - i'm just revisiting this thread once every couple days to plug the rabbitholes as we finalize some shit. lol :)
