the whole shit is fucked. its a half ass dictatorship, its not even as solid as rome. rome was upfront about it. the rich dudes could buy a spot on the senate, 2 guys would have supreme control so they could combat eachother and fight tyranny, the competitiveness between consuls would actually lead to them trying to do great things because the people would like that dude more than the other guy and he would have a better chance at holding a high office when his consulship was up and could be re elected etc
it was basically america of today with two presidents, and a populace that wasnt pussies and the government didnt need approval by the people to go to war
soldiers weren't mistreated because they were lifelong soldiers. not some halfass 6-12 weeks training and 2-4 years of service bullshit. then they are expected to come back to society? yea fucking right. the romans knew better. they'd give there veterans lands away from the populace so they could live out there years in peace. not try and re integrate them into a society they aint built for anymore
this added nothing. i just like rome and think they did it right
i think america is rome today tho, more literally than not. all the symbolism is there, but i won't go down that road cuz conspiracyomgzzzzz.
but word i think my main point is the problem is the people appointed to represent the people, don't. they represent themselves and major corporations, so while retarded shit like gay marriage and other shit will get done, the real problems will never gget dealt with because those people are so far removed from the real problems. and the real people just get inundated with this bullshit on the news and media about gay rights and breast cancer and not shit that actually matters to the vast majority
