I don't even battle anymore, but it's obvious there are too many things going on at once. A few possible steps toward consistency:

1. The Netcees Battle League should run continuously instead of seasonally. Records can reset at the start of a new year, or they don't have to. This will give people a place to consistently battle while never overshadowing tournaments.

2. Tournaments should be viewed as major events. There should not be newbie tournaments. Tournaments should be limited to no more than 32 entrants, and no-showing in a tournament should be penalized somehow (perhaps by being forced to skip the next tournament).

3. Any vote in a tournament should count as at least one and perhaps even two voting links for the Battle Arena and NBL.

4. Never, ever do another double-elimination tournament.

5. Come up with a way to separate real champed accomplishments from things like Fight Night or NBL. Make it clear who has won the events that matter. Perhaps come up with a new type of prize (understanding that cash probably is off the table) for champing these four battle tournaments.

6. Non-traditional tournaments, like the Elements tournament, should be 16-person events with invites. Make people earn their spots in things via the NBL.
