Before that, it was just cold hard business; just like how rome took slaves from every conquered territory. Except we decided that niggers(literal definition) were easy victims and would help you to catch more niggers.
So basically we figured that "hey these dumb niggers sell other dumb niggers so why not turn niggers into slave niggers and ship them over to the states?"
