The word has never been justified ... you can't take a group of people out of their environment drop them in yours and expect them to adapt... esp when they all werent allowed to adapt properly ... then berate them for it
A lot of people don't realise their were black slave owners and they treated their own kind like the white man treated them ... freed blacks were still second class citizens and referred to as niggers though .. but slaves were seen as the lowest form of human they were auctioned and traded at will, sometime worked to death...
If you think all blacks had a fair shake after 1860 then research emmet till ... Christ they had to fight for civil rights long after but that made America see how bad it really was ... sure you can call someone ignorant but if their not receiving the same basic education and privileges as you because their ancestors were owned by yours then who's really the ignorant one?
