This is embarrassing. And the only ones with any solid reasoning here is @oats. Although he may not have expanded on anything he said. @PancakeBrah , I agree with.

Floyd Mayweather is the epitome of a defensive genius. His footwork is bar-none, his speed and stamina, as well. He is a genius in the boxing ring. And when I say a genius, I'm not exaggerating or saying that just for the sake of it. He is a genius INSIDE the boxing ring. Outside it, not so much. And although the weight difference would be a crucial difference. I still see Mayweather winning at a reasonable catchweights (I've seen him spar [not in person] guys 175-185, preparing for a fight [mainly heavy hitting Miguel Cotto and DLH]) And let's say it wasn't a difference, because there's no way that Maywather would catchweight at 170, nor would silva (In my opinion).
@Aero I really hope you were joking that you'd beat any of them. You do online battles and still get stomped on, and come off as uniformly arrogant and cocky in your abilities (which is fine). But these gentlemen, THIS is their craft. You can train for a year and wouldn't come close.

Not only do I box, but I do it religiously, as well as writing. And I have met F.M, and I've seen Silva spar. Silva spars in the same gym that Pacquiao does. He does have boxing knowledge, and even boxed pro for a bit. Wasn't amazing, and I think he has a few defeats under his belt. I'm glad MMA was his thing because he is absolutely amazing to watch, as well as FM; IF you enjoy all aspects of hand to hand combat. (FMM has a "unpopular" style, which to me just shows the ignorance of these "boxing fans")

But let's say they both were 165. Without weight being a factor, or affecting them, (in any way!). Floyd would embarrass him. Hands down, (literally). When you recognize the level of training these guys are at, you wouldn't even compare yourself to them. I run 6 miles a day everyday and have a similar regimen as FMM. But I still recognize him as a better and more conditioned athlete ...by a pretty wide margin. That is his job. His life. Not ashamed of admitting that at all. Silva is also a spectacular athlete, but when you get down to the technicality of it, factor intangibles; how elevated these athletes are, ESPECIALLY and primarily fighters. You sort of respect it. But then again, you guys do have your opinions. But this isn't really an opinion. I know it would happen.

And in the MMA ring it's different. It's like saying a rugby player would get owned playing football, and vice versa.

Silva is an elite athlete.

Mayweather is in a league of his own. Cocky, arrogant. But, one of the greats.
