basically, it's free cloud storage... you start at 2GB. I'm trying to sync my textbooks to my phone/ laptop/ desktop.

you can install dropbox on any computer/ access any computuer, phone, tablet etc through your account and access those files. you can also share folders with other members if you need to

EDIT: you don't need it installed to access them, you can do it through the website
