yo, my work has 2 people like that. see, we've been without a food director for a few months now, so no one's really the boss except for the executive director of everything (dietary, nursing, housekeeping, etc). so basically, the people that have been there the longest is one of the cooks (7 years), we'll call her Bitch. and another server (5 years) we'll call her Asshole. both of them are in their late 50s, early 60s. they're very cliquey, like 15-year old girls in middle school, and they gossip about absolutely everyone that isnt in the room. it's like they cant wait to find something to bitch about. they talk to you like you're an idiot, it's the most condescending shit in the world. and you should see it, everyone seems to put up with it. EVERYONE. including my bitchass. in the 3 or 4 months that i've been there, i've watched 3 people get hired, work for a few weeks, one of them maybe 2 months, and quit. and all of them blame it on Bitch and Asshole, for their condescending attitude and their gossipy bullshit. if they dont like you, they simply act cold toward you and make sure to keep the tension steaming over nothing, really. and all of these former employees have told the executive director why they wont stay. i dont get how she doesnt see the problem, of why they're losing employees. it's like they're too established to get consequences? i'm not really sure. i talked back to them last week and my life's been a living hell. but they're so shitty dude, i've never seen anything like it, not since i was actually in middle school where kids are merciless and mean. women that age still acting like the characters in mean girls, not even kidding.

my grandmother passed away a month and a half ago, i called off for 4 days because the funeral was up north, 1500 miles away. in normal jobs, people can take off up to 2 weeks for a lost loved one, and usually people have the human decency to show SOME sympathy and understanding. well, not that i care to get "sorry for your loss" from people, but to this day, they still bring it up. that they were painfully short-handed that time i was gone. i almost wanna be like "do you think my fuckin dog died, or something? sorry that you're not close with your family and have no concept of compassion but i'm not gonna fuckin apologize for calling off 4 days for a sudden death." like seriously. the other day, i came in and had to cover for someone that called off, didnt even complain, didnt say fuckin shit, yet Bitch comes up to me like "when you called off those 4 days a few weeks back, you left us pretty strained with no days off for that week, I KNOW IT WASNT YOUR FAULT BUT what goes around comes around, doesnt it" i dont know how i held my tongue. i'm going to explode on these dumb bitches soon, i swear to god. like do they not realize i'm still grieving that shit? how insensitive and useless can you possibly be

fuckin worthless. at least i get overtime every week or i would walk out too.
