I agree with Mike Wrecka. All the proof you need about that idea not really working is available this week. Almost everyone procrastinated even with a deadline. Gazette and I posted our verses Tuesday and didn't get a vote for more than 48 hours.

The natural inclination for people is to come up with excuses not to write, either internally or externally. Then it's for people to come up with excuses not to vote. You have to provide deadlines, multiple deadlines, or shit won't get done.

Moreover, if you know your opponent is better than you, what would stop you from dropping a verse three minutes before the deadline to get a tie?
