If you're into good eats...

Japanese Wagyu Beef = holy cow, literally.

i am not normally into the hype of super high priced products which claim to be great.... but I was very, very, wrong in this case...

it melted in my mouth in a way I cannot describe further without sounding melodramatically poetic, and thus potentially disingenuous - so I will not even try.

All i will say is that it is something EVERY human being should try once before they die. Maybe except vegetarians, because there is little chance they come out of the experience without hating themselves for their past decision making.

steak will sincerely never be the same.

Has anyone else tried this 'ish??

maybe @Diode ? effing amazing.

No. This is why you dress up for calamari.

Kobe beef is Wagyu beef that is from Kobe, Japan. But a lot of places will label something Kobe when it's actually American Wagyu. Wagyu essentially is just the designation of the quality of meat.

Using either in a burger is a waste, though it does happen.

Diode 10-01-2014 05:53 PM

wagyu is a subset of kobe and is only raised and slaughtered in wagyu prefecture

it was only available there too until very recently where they auctioned off the rights to US import to 5 restaurants in the US IIRC.

a 6oz filet would run you around $250-500 depending on the location.
