so I watched The Bothersome Man on Objective's recommendation

good movie, def. up my street

not entirely original IMHO as the lead character made me think of the guy from Fight Club - almost not wanting to be part of the world he was and shiunning away from it

i didnt think i'd get the norwegian dark humour but i laughed at a couple points, like when he breaks up with his chick and she's more concerned that he wont be there on the Saturday when they have friends coming over

LOL

i got that it was an afterworld after death where there was no compassion, humour or real love and everything was done for conveinience

decent flick, not bad at all, but Fight Club did it and did it better imho

i'd give it a 7/10 @Objective

Fight Club and The Bothersome Man was entirely different movies with different concepts to me. Fight Club was more about the man and his psychosis alone, The Bothersome Man is taking a hit at the perfect society we'd ''love'' to achieve. The world you see in The Bothersome Man is utopia by definition, at least that was how I understood it.

Aaah, word! Haha, yeah. I know you didn't think it was bad. I was afraid at first that you'd give it 5/10 and felt you've wasted money, but above average is cool.
The thing is I don't see a lot of humor (if any) in The Bothersome Man although a lot of people find certain parts funny. This movie is rather slow paced and fucked up, I'd say it's somewhere between Melancholia and Fight Club if that makes sense. But ye, definitely fucked up.

I don't know if it was an afterworld. (Haven't read interpretations of the movie though.) I think he was just lost emotionally, lost in a world and didn't know how to get back to society and when he did nobody seemed to live life and he felt disconnected from everybody else. That mirrors depression as well. Idk, I just thought the movie portrayed a lot of underlying issues with the human psyche in today's society (at least in Norway/ and maybe Scandinavia) and though they nailed it, haha.

it was def. about the afterlife and ppls ideas of heaven

he kills himself right at the start of the flick, after watching that couple kiss terribly
