@Seadad, if you ignore my advice and then make a thread about Pat's or Geno's being mediocre, I'll do you worse than Split did Masaii.

Where in philly
|
Tbh genos and pats are arguably rhe best of three spots to get cheesesteaks in philly. The third being delasandros. Which i ho estly believe to be the best. Its on henry ave in nw philly on the boarder of roxborough and germantown. They dont deliver though.. just a heada up. You have to walk in.

hi, welcome to pats
pay 16 dollars for a cheese steak literally all it has is meat/cheese, you can get onions but it's 3 dollars extra yes the roll is stale but fuck you we were on tv shows before |
Hi, welcome to Geno's.
Please walk around our 75 signs in support of the death penalty for Mumia Abu-Jamal. We haven't redecorated since 1985 and still hate black people. We'll talk $16 for that cheesesteak, too, and our steaks are even worse than Pat's right across the street. |
I just went looking for a comparison between the three most-known places. This about sums it up:

skip Pat's and Geno's. There's many places where you can get a good steak. If you just want one that's well known Jim's on South, although Jim's in West Philly is the original. Delassandro's is ok. People rave about it, but it's just a steak to me. Philly has a TON of great restaurants and cuisine, it just depends on what you're looking for. Just like any major city. If you want to walk somewhere with a lot of people and places to choose from. Hit South Street at about 16th and just walk down. You can take it all the way to Front Street. It's crowded traffic wise though, so don't drive down it unless you've got some time.
If you want to drive and look at places, hit Main Street in Manayunk. |
Royal Tavern in Bella Vista is probably my favorite place in Philadelphia.
