just watched the new Leprechaun: Origins reboot
Nowhere near as campy as the original. In the original the comedy aspect somewhat made the movie what with the Leprechaun actually talking and being partial to shoes and all lmao. The reboot has more of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets The Descent vibe to it. The Leprechaun itself is more creature than anything and doesn't look or act anything like the original. Doesn't speak either.
The reboot does try to make it more reality-based, as much as you can when you're dealing with absurd folklore. It isn't the best movie ever made, but it is a pretty good horror movie if you want something different from the trend of paranormal/psychological horror movies that have been dominating the genre as of late.
