is there really a need aliases in a topical tourney?
 

I always thought of alias tourneys as a way to mitigate blatant voting circles and other miscreant text politics that plague these communities..

but I always looked at topical guys as a bunch of honorable chums who'd get together to have tourneys in good jest, and all voted fairly amongst themselves.

Aliases are good for strictly battle heads that call topical ppl pansies, but want to see how well they can do against them without being made fun of by everyone else...until the reveal at the end of the tournament, which by then they hope they either are in the finals or ppl eventuality forget about them entering in the first place.
