I have to sheepishly admit that Innervisions never did it for me the same way Songs in the Key of Life does. Innervisions is nine really good songs but doesn't have the same level of experimentation.

John lewis is one of my favorite musicians of all time but why even bother trying to distinguish the two of them?

I thought the hard-bop/modal jazz crowd hated third stream. Maybe that's one of those things that was big in the 1950s and 1960s but has died over the years.

Sketches of Spain is my favorite jazz album, though.
