A black captain America and a female Thor....

Marvel is breaking barriers. If u didn't know falcon(a black guy) is taking over captain America job. Thor is also going to be deemed unworthy and taking his place a woman will be the goddess of thunder. U know I'm lost on that one cause will have to change the story completely.......this will not effect the movies tho....

This Earth 616 or is Ultimates/some other universe?

TYSON 07-18-2014 03:17 PM

No different universe this is the legit series being rebooted.

anime_boners 07-18-2014 03:18 PM

The man we know as Thor has been rejected by his hammer, Mjolnir, and so the hammer is going to be taken up by … a woman. This woman will become Thor, and some people on the Internet are getting pretty Thor about it themselves.
I already love this article

Official black captain America/falcon

veritas 07-18-2014 03:44 PM

this is stupid.

TYSON 07-18-2014 03:58 PM

Kinda stupid from a fan pov but it also gives a lot more to the story's tbh. The controversy will give the script writers a lot more to work with...

veritas 07-18-2014 04:17 PM

but why change it?

Strikta 07-18-2014 04:29 PM

Dumb dumb dumb.

Inno 07-18-2014 04:32 PM

No surprise the white guys don't like this.

because these characters/series are over 50-60 years old and change generates interest?

It's reasonable that Sam Wilson become Captain America considering his history with Steve Rogers as Falcon. It's a transition that doesn't reek of political correctness. But the female Thor is so contrived it's ridiculous. This is the inscription found on Mjolnir, "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor." Think ab that. 1) "if he be worthy" and 2) "shall possess the power of Thor."
Having a female Thor, unless it's Lady Sif (and even that's a stretch considering the inscription specifically says it must be a man), that doesn't have a rich history with Thor himself is as pc as it gets. And if Thor himself doesn't possess the power of Thor, who is he? You have 2 Thor's in the same Marvel Universe. One without the power that was specifically tailored for him, and another who happens to be female and is "worthy to possess the power" he once had. If this is going to happen..why would she be Thor? Why not somebody else with the power to wield Mjolnir? Her taking Thor's name is progressive claptrap at its best. Instead of making an entirely new character, progressives just assimilate the previous one to capitalize on its legacy.

because people aren't going to talk and cause massive shitstorms over some new female hero. even if she's got her own series, even if she's considered as powerful as Thor. people won't talk. not like they will about this.

It's win/win in terms of marketing. The world is changing. Much to the chagrin of the white male, the world is tired of white male protagonists in everything. All those people who wanna see something new get what they want. People go nuts all over the internet. Even if the some are pissed, it still has a shit ton more people looking at marvel than there was the day before they announced this.

I actually agree with this...tho I have say change is not bad and controversy promotes the sales tbh

TYSON 07-18-2014 05:30 PM

Stan says he wants more strong females in his comics. So look forward to future female Thor movies lol.
