time machine

if the government had one( we know they would get it first) what do you think that would actually do? what do you think they would prevent or change. been thinking about this alot lately like what would you change? because everything up till now is the reason ur you so would you fuck with that?

veritas 06-28-2013 01:36 PM

hahahahahahahahahaahhaahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa you don't get it human!

time travel is possible

I visit philosophical/science forums, and this question appears quite often. Many physicists argue that time travel is impossible, mainly because it would violate certain laws of physics. Stephen Hawking said that a lack of visitors from the future was evidence enough that time-travel will never happen. Time-travel would also question the boundaries of ethics and morality; i.e. having people relive their suffering. Mathematically, time-travel is somewhat symmetrically incoherent in an axiomatic set - if your going back in 'x' (time), you'd have to do this in 'x', but that defeats the purpose of going back in 'x', i.e. how can you go back in time, in time? (It suggests there are an infinite subset of "times").

It's not possible, mate. But it's worth the curiosity and speculation.

This thread from being made.

read somewhere or saw it on TV that the third riche was close to making
a time machine dunno how much truth is in that

Mael 06-29-2013 01:54 PM

I remember a theologian who joked that time-travel makes the existence of hell a reality. He gave the example of a time traveller, who seconds before being sent back in time, accidentally sets himself on fire and burns himself, which unfortunately triggers the time-machine to send him back only a few seconds instead of years in time, only for the exact same thing to happen. Thus, the time-traveller remains in an infinite regress of incineration.

There is alot of people who would argue that tbh

Time travel is dumb

Badweather 06-29-2013 08:34 PM

At any given point in time the earth is literally in a different place, as it constantly revolves around the sun. The difficulty in time-travel is going back in time and actually landing on earth when you get there.

Fart 06-30-2013 02:36 AM

Man i thought this was a thread about the HG Wells classic
anyways even if there was such machine it would probably take more energy to operate than can be generated on earth

NYCSPITZ 06-30-2013 03:56 AM

bet u it's possible,

bet u it creates an alternate timeline and shit,

bet u i'd use it to fuck more bitches that's it tho

God Of War 06-30-2013 08:26 AM

@Mael the arguement that there would be alot more time travelers is false if it was strictle a government operation. then you wouldnt even know it was happening at all.

anything can be manipulated, if it exists it can be manipulated. air, gravity, etc

time is no different

Time exists in the 4th dimension. As far as Hilbert spaces and topological manifolds, I've never heard of manipulating something that cannot be conceived by 3-dimension beings. Some things in nature/reality are simply "restricted", like the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics - and they are best left that way.

I've seen some documentaries where time travel is theoretically possible if we were to accelerate an object up to the speed of light at which point time stops and beyond that motion is reversed. But they said it would be physically impossible to do this because the closer the object gets to the speed of light, the more its mass increases which would require more energy to keep it accelerated. This would require an infinite amount of energy. The other option was a wormhole, but that's entirely theoretical.

PancakeBrah 07-02-2013 09:26 PM

they'd prob go back in time or something

Rojo187 07-02-2013 09:32 PM

honestly don't think it's possible but....

I'm sure multidimensional travel is far more likely....

they can create a portal and maybe that can go to different realities...and if the government using it...

it would only be used to control and enslave the people....

Ghost1 07-02-2013 10:01 PM

Lol this faggit would go back in time to read a bunch of cane text verses loool

Rojo187 07-02-2013 10:05 PM

yo...keep the bullshyt to the other thread real talk...

I posted some feedback to some verses in open Mic...

wanna troll there too?

there's rules to this shyt bitch....
