Tips on becoming a better battle rapper
 

Trying to make that transition into heavy weight but I need some tips/advice. I started off battling on lb in the summer of last year. I wanna know does it take patience or just extra work. Like any other thread, I know somebody lame will leave a stupid comment but I would like to hear from the more mature side of nc. Whose with me.

Focus more on ur wording. How you say it and not necessarily what u say

just go peep the summer classic.. pretty much every battle in there right now is worth a read and almost everyone has a very good idea of how to write a dope battle.

Well if you were on LB that means you started out the worst way possible.

First thing you need to understand if you're going to battle here, is that we understand punches and we can read multi-syllabic rhymes just fine w/o any CAPS LOCK or ~~squigglies~~

Other than that. Read battles and verses by guys like @God Of War, @Bags, @ill nik-A @Orc, @Beyond, @Hush, @J. Metts, @The Bully, @Cashius, @Patrick, @Seth Scheinberg, @Allen Knight and try to understand punches, wordplay, nampelays, etc.

Than, use what you've learned from reading some of the best and battle a lot... Against anyone. Join fight nights when they're run, join any tournament you can or just battle guys in the BA.

Join the NBL and 1-2 punch leagues (They're just about over now tho) but u can sign in next seasons for the those leagues as well.

People will vote on your verses and give you more feedback which is essential to your growth in becoming a decent text battler.

Try not to be corny, or obvious with your punches.

But don't be to complex because someone might not understand a reference you make if it isn't clear enough.
