Jay-Z new album going to be his best yet?
It has already hit Platinum BEFORE it's release.
That is right. Samsung have pre-ordered and paid for 1 MILLION copies of his new album to give-away to EVERY Galaxy phone user. His new album will be called 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' which will be released July 8th. |
doubtfully, but I'm sure it'll still be a solid album.

Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint are both top-shelf albums. I generally lean towards Nas in the big picture, but can't deny Hov. Black Album was dope, too. If this album beats any of those, I'll be stoked.

Pretty sure it won't be his best, maybe best selling if this thread is anything to go by. Looking forward to it.

where did u read pre-sold 1 mil to samsung? @Evolve links?
|
Straight from Yahoo news.
"Jay-Z made it clear Monday what he felt the trade publication should do. "If 1 Million records gets SOLD and billboard doesn't report it, did it happen? Ha," Jay-Z tweeted, adding: "Platinum!!!" Donio said he thinks more deals like Samsung-Jay-Z are on the horizon. "The record labels that are putting out the music and partnering with a variety of types of commerce outlets are going to look at just anything and everything that may work with that particular artist and that particular album release," he said." |
Yahoo news again.
"The details of the deal were leaked shortly after the commercial — that features Jay hanging out in the studio with producers Rick Rubin, Pharrell Williams, Swizz Beats and Timbaland — per The Wall Street Journal's Hannah Karp: Samsung bought 1 million copies of the album for $5 a piece that will be available for Samsung Galaxy owners to download 72 hours ahead of its regular release. So, in essence, Jay-Z (and his record company) already pocketed $5 million before his album was even released. Jay-Z's normally adoring public were, well, kind of grossed out by this marriage of art with corporate America: " |

|
Ive only listened to
Illmatic STillmatic Lost Tapes & and it was written. SO i wouldnt no anyeway but i doubt it u might be right tho idk |
Nas at his best>Hov at his best
Nas at his worst<Hov at his worst If I were to compare their top three albums (imo, of course) and rank them, it would look like this: 1. Illmatic 2. Blueprint 3. Reasonable Doubt 4. It Was Written 5. God's Son 6. Black Album Hov is more consistent, but Nas is the man when he's on point. |
Yea ok
Nas it's best was illmatic... Jay z consistently good Nas is a bore fest... |
I'll give you that. Nas' shitty songs/albums are pretty awful, whereas Hov usually has something redeeming about his shitty songs/albums.
