So I was just given a citation for 'trespassing' on a private road...

I shit you not... I was waiting to pick my son up from baseball practice and I normally wait on the corner for him but this time I was early and wondered onto 'private land' which is more or less a road... the fucked up thing about this is.. there was ONE sign saying 'Do Not Enter' which I thought was just for vehicles... There were NO signs saying Private Property so I'm going to appeal that bullshit... the crooked ass cop was blabbering on about how it was a misdemeanor... I explained what I was doing and I said "I see people walking up and down here all the time so I just figured it wasn't private land as there were no signs" and his reply was "Those are the people we like to lock up too".... freal?

I'm appealing this bullshit due to the lack of a 'Private Property' sign and/or clear indication that the sign was meant for pedestrians also.

Do Not Enter could mean for cars or any other vehicles. It never had any mention of pedestrians.

word, chances r wherever u stay needs money or dept needs doe, usually its an ulterior motive,,,when fine is repercussion or he just felt u could afford it.

The corner where I normally wait is like 2 minutes away and I was early so I was just on my cell phone talking and just wondering around as you do trying to pass the time.. and the sign seriously wasn't RIGHT in my face so I actually didn't see it at first.. I didn't see cars around on the road so I went onto that street to get quiet for my phone call

but srs if sign was posted, its posted...dont matter..cops a dick for severity of punishment, but u aint got a leg to stand on.

u may b able to get it deduced...but end up spending just as much in court costs, maybe even more with defense.
