so, on the ending of how I met your mother (spoilers like a mofo)
So, I could have done without them putting Ted and Robin together at the end, but I think if that was the plan, they should have paced the episode better after the mother's character dies, put in a grieving scene or Ted saying goodbye or something. It makes sense in the story as Ted's kids are removed six years from their mother's death, but as a viewer, I was about 6 seconds removed from her death, so for the kids to immediately be like 'yeah, go get Robin!' was kind of jarring. Plus, as a viewer, I had just watched all kinds of character development and undevelopment, where they took things they set up over years and dismantled them in minutes. I dunno. Taking place over so many years in one hour was maybe a bit too daring of a thing to pull off. I just felt like I got the last slap, as a viewer.
