Short story writers etc., let's try to get somewhere with our shit.
First off, here's a essay contest that might interest you:
15k£ to the first price and 1k£ pounds to the runner ups. http://www.nottinghilleditions.com/essay-prize & 10£ to enter. Submissions deadline: 1 August 2013. I'm dead serious and I'll probably end last in this competition if I choose to enter and make a fool out of myself, but why not just go for it? I'll write some essays now and then and see if any of them is worth submitting at the end of june. Beside of that, is there anyone in here that want to start a group of writers to feed stories or take a look at them every now and then? Read shit and motivate eachother to write actual stories? Let's try to get some shit published within the next few years or something, wether it be online or not. If you aint doing audios and enjoy writing shit, this could be something for you. A lot of published writers didn't start to write shit until their mid thirties or forties. We are ahead if we want to get somewhere with it. I bet most of the people in the group, if not all, will at least publish a book or a collection of short stories before the age of 40 if we're dedicated enough to do this. If you're 18; before the age of 30. Maybe even sooner. I got some ideas on how to get there etc., but I'll wait with that to see if there's any actual interest. |
im working on a saga of fantasy novels yo
i dropped out of high school and know nothing about writing though. but word. its gonna be epic, literally. once i begin actually writing it, and then once i can get a person to re write it in its entirety so its actually legible or whatever |
uh-oh: I believe that if you send your work to a publishing company and they accept it they'll get people to read through your book to look for errors etc. hired by them before it's getting published. At least that's how it works around here. If not, I bet there's other places to go to for a price that will look through errors. That's what I'm hoping for, my english grammar fucking sucks.

I have a pretty good understanding on how to get a book published. did a lot of research into it. my goal is to get a childrens picture book ive written published. let me tell you its an extremely difficult thing to accomplish, but not impossible.
I would be down to be a part of this group and give any assistance to others as well as have some of my stuff read by others to get feed back on. only thing is it has to be a select group of people you trust, because unpublished work is easily stolen. but ya I could walk anyone through the process of getting published |
I'm actually trying to write a movie script- well two or three based on some ideas I have. But this is a pretty dope idea. A lot of writers on here have the talent & skills.

At the moment, the people that's down to do this is: me, Witty, Mike Wrecka, King Keith(?) and Uh-oh(?). |
i would like to have something published but idk.
pretty stuck in my ways and i feel like any publishing company would require me to completely change it up in order to have any mass appeal. they'd be right in doing so.. but fuck em |
Dead Man: There's ways to publish your own work. A rapper I've talked to a few times published his own poetry collection himself. It's abit harder to get sales etc. going as you stand for the marketing yourself, but if you truly believe in your shit and think that people would be interested in buying it, go for it.
If you're stuck in your ways perhaps a group like this could be something for you. I know I got a long way to go but I think I'm finally on my way of getting somewhere with my ideas. Just need some proper guidance/feedback, motivation and disproval/approval that the stuff I write is interesting or if it's good enough or not. I also believe that getting 1-2 people to read your stuff is not enough as people got different views, but if we're 4-6 people we can get a more realistic view on wether something is worth spending more time on or not. |

I'm a great story writer. I will make millions from my work. With that said I hope you guys get this off the ground and start writing. For Americans there is a site called pwgrant.org where u can enter writing contests and win cash money.

Btw, posting your work online reduces the chance that you get published through conventional methods btw.

to get started. you need one of these. this is my bible. if you write literature for adults im sure theyre is an equivalent. not sure the name though.
http://vastimaginations.files.wordpr...rket-guide.jpg it tells you the address and email of every publishing company. it also tells you what kind of books they are looking for. then you have to send a query letter to the company, usually by mail. sometimes email. theyre are very strict rules when sending these query letters and you have to follow it to a T. most of the time, you have to send out dozens and dozens before you get a reply. then you send your manuscript. if the editor reads it and likes it and you get very lucky, you get published. and you could only send out one query letter at a time. its frowned upon to send out more than one at once. but ya get the book, that's step one. and remember I think JK Rowling was denied over a hundred times before someone decided to published Harry Potter. so keep trying. and keep writing. |
My homie @Xces has been doing some story writing
