the fastest man in rugby

with the combine going on i was looking at a list of the fastest 40 times of all time and came across this dude

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfb8a1GFrxc

he's from massillon, where i went to high school, same age as me, but i went to massillon public schools, he went to jackson which is whiteville. they probably recruited him to compete with massillon and mckinley, but anyways

thought that vid was dope

he's signed to the detroit lions right now, but is on the practice squad. has a good chance of making there team tho judging his athleticism but you never know

all this made me think about was what if there was no american football

this kid ran a 4.22 at the lions facility, faster than anyone on record. they say bo jackson ran a 4.13 or some shit but they dont have it on film/record

but word could you imagine CLOWNEY if he played rugby? what is he 6'5''? i know he's like 265 lbs. he ran a 4.53 today

we would dominate the world so easily if we cared about sports the rest of the world cared about

this dude never played rugby in his life and instantly there team is a contender

obviously its american rugby tho so every team is probably bummy. but still

Chris johnson ran a 4.24

uh-oh 02-24-2014 07:07 PM

word he holds the record for the fastest 40. chris johnson i mean

this dudes 4.22 was done at the lions facility and probably by someone with a stop watch, not a verified 40 like chris johnson ran at the combine

dudes with stopwatches clocked chris johnson at like 4.16 if i remember right, but his official time was the 4.24 or 4.28 whatever his record is lol

Allen Knight 02-24-2014 07:09 PM

That dude dri or w.e almost broke it the other day he ran a 4.28 I think

he's pretty good offensively as a winger in rugby 7 on 7, that's about where it stops though. less space in the full game and he would need to learn it tactically and also learn to tackle.. in 7's he's a beast though, so much room to run into.

And this guy ran .02 quicker

You know I'm with you OH.

If there were no football Basketball would be crazy dope too, but then our whack ass MLS would at least be watchable. Still, the best in American Soccer "football" would play overseas tho.

Alas, american football is the illest so fuck it.

uh-oh 02-24-2014 07:12 PM

yea dude from kent state

its insane how fast these people are

i could probably run a solid 6 lol

like rich eisen haha.

i dunno why they even have the qb's run it tho. imagine what peyton manning would put up lmao. im gonna check and see if he ever ran a timed 40 lol. he was probably more athletic in his tennessee days tho

word i don't know the game at all so i can't comment on his actual rugby skill, though it was a cool vid tho

he played NE ohio football tho so he knows proper tackling. if he was any good, i never heard of him so you might be right. but tackling im sure is the same in rugby as in american football. alot of americans are idiots tho since they have pads theyll torpedo in with there head down.

proper tackling is head up, drive in with the shoulders and wrap, its probably the same in rugby. rugby probably has alot of good tacklers, like in the purest sense

alot of NFL guys skate on size and speed. just smashing into people

Seyance 02-24-2014 07:26 PM

kid is a threat everytime he gets the ball, he can run AROUND a guy.. which is pretty much impossible to deal with.

rugby tackling technique is aiming for the knees.. wrap up around the knees and roll in a similar way to a crocodile 'death-rolls'. i've played both and lemme tell you if you're used to pads.. tackling without feels very weird, you feel kind of invincible with pads on.. but without pads like you said you have to use more technique than power.

the lack of pads mean tackling offers more freedom in a few respects, due to helmet to knee and certain other shots being pretty illegal in football.. since they can really damage one or both players are allowed in rugby as it doesn't need protect the person being tackled as much. body on body keeps it a bit safer, people are less wreckless with their own health.

uh-oh 02-24-2014 07:35 PM

yea in american football you wanna go at the waist

every kid here grows up playing tackle in backyards tho without pads

im sure its alot different throwing your grown man weight into anothers grown man tho

i just picture bloody noses from knees at the thought lol

Seyance 02-24-2014 07:43 PM

yeah, you just gotta get over assuming you're gonna get kicked or knee'd in the face. it'll happen regardless, nothing you can do about it.. but not as often as you think, peoples legs do usually become pretty useless if you wrap up properly. rugby is growing in support in usa, you've got a good size for it too uhoh.

uh-oh 02-24-2014 07:51 PM

i was a beast back in the day, in pads i was much easier to tackle. i remember after football practice in middle school we were just fucking around playing some regular tackle football without our pads and i was like MIKE ALSTOTT just carrying dudes and it took like 3-4 people to bring me down

but my days of being remotely athletic are far behind me. cigs and just my general comatose state when im not working have destroyed any athletic abilities i once had

i wish i never smoked weed and turned into a degenerate. i was the fastest kid on my midget football team and i played fullback

i dont know how familiar with american football you are, but fullbacks are generally slow giant dudes. not big enough to play on the line, but too big usually and too slow to actually be a running back, so they just cleared the way for runningbacks

but word i was a god in midget and middle school football. then i moved and destroyed my life with drugs and video games and didnt even do high school sports

biggest mistake of my life, espescially considering i went to basically like the alabama of high school football. my high school and its rival is the only high school football game you can bet on in vegas

but word we all gotta live with our mistakes. seriously depressed about my life choices back then.

uh-oh 02-24-2014 07:56 PM

reading that i make it seem like i was gods gift or something

i was probably mediocre at best, i was just blessed cuz my team was trash so it made me seem great lol

Allen Knight 02-24-2014 10:02 PM

Yea cigs will fuck u up, I don't fuck w/ them
I smoke bud tho an I was good I played all 4 yrs varsity bball in hs
Smoking mad buds after practice lol good ol days
