ugh just can't seem to get this done, but for the sake of dropping something on time:



you were.
bigger than physics, chemistry, even simple anatomy
the way you met me, released me from umbilical gravity
your hands embedded me, a bed for me, metaphysical air to breathe
no oxytocin/labored closeness - you were just there for me
you punished me, lectured me, managed the stress
gave me everything you had and then, handled the rest
tangible steps that I stumbled on and stained with my blood
angered you none - concerned only to never leave family bereft
ahead of your time. whenever I was an unfathomable mess
my punishment for trouble was backgammon or chess
that was lesson - think ahead, consider the consequences
prolong attention, pursue the most honest exit
