Certain 02-20-2014 11:21 PM

At least this picture isn't about writing.

PancakeBrah 02-20-2014 11:22 PM

Certain don't be like that.

Certain 02-20-2014 11:22 PM

I've got dead man winning 12-4. There should be plentiful votes because this match will count toward Week 1 AOWL links.

Great match. Hats off.

lars wants it more as evidenced by his avatars. dead man is more talented by a big margin but he will lose.

Really?

Dead man is a genius b/c he can create HOF in less than an hour. It's just a guess but I think he doesn't even put much effort into a lot of dope verses where most other top heads grind them out. I think only Vulgar and black have that ability to type dope shit out verse after verse because nobody else does that. Lars is dope but he obvi wants it the most this tournament. Which, I give mad props to him for because it's a very masculine trait and we all BOYS. When men have a strong desire, unbreakable will power and a definite will to succeed they usually do in any endeavor. That's why I got Lars even though I think black is superior. By a big margin? Nah...but a pretty significant one in my humble opinion. Others will say the opposite, Lars is better and that's fine, it's all opinion dawg...

NYCSPITZ 02-21-2014 03:47 PM

bt dubs, to make it clear, I think almost anyone in the league with concerted effort and willpower can attain to the #1 spot. People act like it's genetics when it's all about practice, willpower, persistence.

Certain 02-21-2014 03:56 PM

I agree.

NYCSPITZ 02-21-2014 04:12 PM

topic reminds me of afro samurai

'Never Let Me Down' still gives me chills tbh.

IF I WERE ON THE HIGHEST CLIFF, ON THE HIGHEST RIFF, AND YOU SLIPPED OFF THE SIDE AND CLENCHED ONTO YOUR LIFE IN MY GRIP I WOULD NEVER, EVER LET YOU DOWN

fuarrrk

Witty 02-21-2014 07:08 PM

I listen to that song nearly every day.

Certain 02-21-2014 07:12 PM

All three go hard as fuck in completely different styles. The one thing that Kanye West has not replicated since his first two albums is the quality of his featured guests' verses.

Has a lot to do with his persona now. Back in the 'College Dropout' days he was still an unknown quantity even to himself. Wasn't sure he could be a star. So he wasn't afraid to not be the star on his own track so long as it improved the song. Now he's implanted in the zeitgest and isn't afraid. Has its upsides and downsides. Plus he was so much more focused on proving himself through talent in his early days, via production and just amazing song structuring. He still makes great music but it's not as pure.

Then again I'm drinking, about to go play blackjack and I'm feeling poetic. People don't really change and it's a small sample size influenced by my own uninformed opinions of him as a person. But I stand by my ramblings.
