I find light in the dark within this world of the living dead
Where mindless bitches are cool as long they're giving head
In these calm times I panic, is this the planet I've got to raise my kids on?
Walk me for a little while and see the logic behind my mad wisdom
Why is it that when the ropes loose, the noose feels tight
And in my darkest hours these wrongdoers keep telling me I'm right
With all these unspoken tales of failure stuck on repeat
It's not wonder I live my life in a forward retreat
I've given more than you can take and I suffer for this
Cos sometimes I know I'm right on target.. to miss
I'm fearless but scared and what I've come to see
Is that sometimes I'm too busy looking back at what's in front of me
But in the silences after our loudest arguments what I'm hearing is hope
All I'm saying is it's hard sometimes when your life feels like a serious joke
