What a fucking Christmas this turned out to be
 

So i have to work, its raining and then while im at work i get called to a first aid.

Man is collapsed, blue face, very weak pulse. So straight away I check his airways and start doing cpr, his colour returned and he started making tiny little noises. Im pumping away and giving this guy air, for about ten minutes straight until paramedics arrive, even then im still assisting with chest pumps.

They shocked this guy approx 15 times with the defib, gave him adreniline etc, then pronounced him dead as his colour went back to blue.

He wasnt even that old, maybe 60? What a fucking Christmas.

At least I kept him alive until the paramedics came...

Getting my emt this year. CPR certified. Need first aid classes and blood trauma training.

Didnt know the guy, he was a guest of the (5 star) hotel i work at. Yeah i do security here which is why i was first on the scene cause we are all trained in first aid, not to the point where i can administer shots and uvs and shit but just the basics until the paramedics arrive.

Felt sorry for the wife, didnt even know what to say to her, all i said was that his heart was still going and he was in good hands with the paramedics.

And i used a face shield for the cpr.

i almost hit a dog today and it wouldve ruined me

seen them fuckers coming, two medium sized dogs. kinda small tho, but they were coming down the sidewalk like model stray dogs, but then like 20 feet from me one runs out and my brakes are shit and i screeched em on em and he looked at my shit like i was the one out of line

but word i wouldve been scarred.

At first they were asking me if i was okay and i just kind of laughed it off said yeah, but seeing his wifes face and seeing the life drain out of this man till he went blue, not good now, im getting a delayed reaction. Thinking about my life.

Ive had 2 friends pass in the last 3 days. Christmas is sad thos year. Extra appreciative tho.
