Danny Woodhead (vs. DEN) or CJ Spiller (vs. JAX)
 

I cannot get my head around this. My gut says CJ, my head says Woodhead.

My thinking:

- Both defenses aren't great.
- DEN vs. SD should be a blowout and potentially could give Woodhead a lot of work.
- Spiller is the more talented back, but he is incredibly inconsistent.
- The Jags have only allowed two 100 yard + rushers this year (Mathews and McFadden), but they are 6th worst in yards allowed and 11th in YPC allowed.
- DEN hasn't allowed a single 100 + yard rusher but there have been a number of ones close. Running isnt woodheads game though and DEN allowed Vereen (essentially the same RB) to total 100 yards in their matchup.

yea bro --- you're talking playoffs now - due to the inconsistency, you just can't go with spiller in the playoffs....


he's gotten double digit points (in most non-PPRs at least), like 3-4 times this season...

Woodhead's done that more times even in standard, and he is more a PPR threat (if it is a PPR league) --- even if it's not, i don't trust spiller.


NOW --- there is a senario i play spiller over woodhead..... and that's only if "i am going to lose without a few crazy/lucky blow up performances".....

but while I agree with you -- Spiller 'ought to' be 'that' dude.... Woodheads gone off for more of those performances so far this year.... and unfortunately for spiller -- woodhead's floor is not as low as his this year --- even though spiller's ceiling should theoretically be higher



so if its me and i just need 8-12 points (hoping its a flex role for you) - im playing woodhead.... if i need some kind of 30+ miracle, i'd go spiller, but know it's not going to happen prolly lol...



the thing is... part of the reason Denver looks decent against the run stats wise is just because teams are always playing from behind...... but yea man... at the end of the day, i would play with whoever got you there..... and err on the side of woodhead if you can win with either guy potentially underperforming.

Woodhead in either format even though its on TNF...Denvers run d isn't great..and... it's CJ spiller.

Thing is he didn't do well against this D last time they played other than the TD. Denver LB's are fast and keep up with him in coverage.

And @Art, he doesn't really run much so I don't know.

Good thing I went with my gut...Spiller cant possibly be worse.
