I think it has reached a point in the music industry in general where you dont have to be talentedlike you did many yrs ago, beatles, johnny cash, elvis etc....now all you need is to be able to sell sex....have big tits and a pretty face if you're a pop star.

I cant listen to the radio, havent done so in over 10 years, it does my head in with all the recycled crap, once youve heard one song about getting drunk youve heard them all...and who cares how big your house is or your 10x mistress'?

I prefer timeless classics now such as movie scores and orchestral pieces. They inspire me more than 'regular' music anyway, which is why we all listen to music in the first place isnt it?

I think what you're not realizing is there were pretty pop stars back then, too. Think about disco. Mindless music has existed forever, but it doesn't stay relevant, so only the good stuff gets remembered. If you go back and look at the No. 1 hits of the 1960s and 1970s, you'll see a mix of respected and memorable acts and groups you've probably never heard of, at least other than their one big song.

In 40 years, they'll be talking wistfully about the days when Arcade Fire and Adele and Jay-Z were big-named musical acts. They'll have forgotten about fun. and Demi Lovato and 2Chainz.

Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2W1Wi2U9sQ Tchaikovsky, one of the most brilliant musicians to bless stage.

keyword: respected.

none of these musicians now deserve respect. i'm starting to lose respect for Jay-Z with every new album he's released after the Black Album. Adele's cool tho, her last album was a classic tbh. all these people just are out to make pop music, Jay-Z included, Adele doesn't really hope to make it. she is IT. she can make the industry go her, Jay Z doing pop shit on songs and getting outshined by Justin Timberlake on both now

tldr real music is for pussies

Canon in D

every time i hear that i wonder why i listen to a lot of the 'ish i listen to, and then i think about what an amazing beat it would make with a BASIC drum pattern layered on top of it, and then i remember Coolio attempted that and, while i still somehow liked it enough at the time to cop the single due to the music alone, i shed a solitary tear for the fact that it really wasn't even close to doing the canon justice. lol

PancakeBrah 12-12-2013 09:11 AM

Chance the Rapper is the only rap I enjoy nowadays.

Just C 12-12-2013 10:08 AM

I Don't understand how hip hop isn't real music. Old people used to say this about rock and roll back in the 50's.

Maybe you're just going the way of the fuddy duddy like every past generation to say "That's not musics, that's noise!" when ever a new style or sound is popular.

baroque music was the boy band pop music of the era.

just saying.

Greed 12-12-2013 11:56 AM

I wrote a paper on Chopin. He's decent.

Classical really does translate better. A lot of Baroque sounds like easy-listening.
