Christianitbullshit%#$@@
We have proven, its fucking obvious that the old testament is bs.
The Earth isn't 6 thousand years old, <cough> evolution <cough> So Adam and Eve didn't exist in the Garden of Eden. So if that is the case, whos sins did Jesus die for? Not Adams he didn't exist. Im calling bs! Also sidenote: If Christmas is for when Jesus was born, then why isn't is pronounced Christ - Mass ? Not Chris mas. It should be ChristMass or his name should be changed to Jesus Chris. |
What if the bible was not intended to be interpereted literally

Greydon Square da goat. Also @Plot; Why limit your questioning to just one religion? Check this shit out; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZI9D31n-KA http://rapgenius.com/Greydon-square-...v-scale-lyrics But.. When it comes down to it; As long as people don't use it as a reason to start wars and/or bother other people with their views and visions I couldn't give a fuck about how judgmental they are as long as it doesn't go any further than their minds. When it does it reaches a point where you can't blame any book, it's about people and their personalities which is a whole different debate. Either way, as long as people find meaning in that stuff I don't give a fuck as long as they focus on the positive shit and it makes them a better being. So why should we as atheists try to push our thoughts or come with hate when it doesn't serve a greater purpose than splitting humans apart? |
The French skeptic Voltaire predicted that within a hundred years of his death the Bible would be a forgotten book. Within fifty years of Volitaire's death, however, the Geneva Bible Society was using his house to publish Bibles for Europe.
Bernand Ramm wrote, "A thousand times over, the death knell of the Bible has been sounded, the funeral procession formed, the inscription cut on the tombstone, and commital read. But somehow the corpse never stays put." Issac Newton, regarded as the greatest physicist to ever live, along with the second greatest physicist of all time - Albert Einstein (who had a picture of Newton on his wall as a reminder of the rewards of the diligent & inquisitive mind) were both theists. Issac Newton spent more time writing about the Bible and attempting to decode it's hidden messages than he did his scientific studies. People often joke that if Issac Newton spent all of his time doing science, he'd have figured the whole Universe out. Others suggest the opposite - that maybe his unhindered passion with the crackpottery of ancient Hebrew text was the secret behind his genius. The Bible, along with religion, isn't going anywhere. Thanks to the human race's obsession with fantasy (e.g. LOTR, Twilight, Harry Potter) and the study of the past - History. |
Word @Mael, that's what strikes me as odd. That 100% working people and extremely smart individuals still follows religion. I guess it's a basic need in human thinking and a defense mechanism for survival (a lot of people that can't handle death as being the end of their existence now has something to fall back upon) that boils down to evolution and how our basic brains work.

albert einstein was agnostic btw

My biggest beef with it -
Is people try to prove the existence of God......... using the bible. Like.. umm.. what? If that were the case, I could prove the Wolverine exists with scriptures from the fucking X-Men. |
lolllll

EASILY REFUTE OP:
THERE IS AN INDETERMINABLE GAP OF TIME IN BETWEEN GENESIS 1:1 AND 1:2 THREAD/ |
I remember studying that during my days as a Christian. So from that perspective, I'd agree with you on that.
|
The sun was created on the fourth day which means the first three days could have been millions of years if you believe in the bible.

Quoting from a scripture is not proof, i have read it and i know what it says, obviously you have interpreted it as there was an indeterminable gap but i would like to know why and how you came to that conclusion, using evidence that is not just interpretation of a written passage...that is not proof of anything. |
I'm curious as well. I remember I watched a pastor's interpretation of the "gap in Genesis" but he only used scripture to back it up. And those passages didn't really back it up, it was used out of context.

Or perhaps the OP wrote this in reaction to the other 10 religion threads
and the above poster is a weak border who desperately seeks attention. |
