Yupp that was a dope piece. As a Canadian who has played ice hockey for over a decade I applaud this! Excellent insight into a player who doesn't get the respect he deserves for the mark he will forever have left on the sport

That bolded line reminded in my the song 'How They Want Me to Be' by Best Coast (check it out, it's a thumper!). Not in content, but in the fact that a phrase can be said a million times and still be fresh and meaningful if you fucking mean it, cunt. That bolded line read well to me, for reasons I cannot discern at the top layer of my brains. But it stuck out to me, so I bolded it. I know people have done lines with the exact same sentiment, but your wording and lead up and follow up, I don't know, it was the line of the drop and encapsulated the point of the whole thing. So good. The glossy eyed idealism in some of the lines left me almost eye rollish, though (smell fumes, the fight racism and fight to play hockey especially) but overall I can not say I did not like this. Although, the ending was weak to me. The real meat of this piece isn't that. And it come off slightly corny. I have a tendency to end my bullshit like that. Signs of dopage!
