Yeah, Jay Krupp was David Lamas mentor. David lama used to post at our board, and Jay would teach him HTML and other V board garjon.

Baron Mynd came to RhymeNreason and was influenced heavily by yours truly. He would go on and become a dominant force at RapMusic.com, where he would battle, the late great @Athiest and the old school legend, Tha Talent, both writers I also influenced heavily at Rhymenreason before they would go on to the bigger boards and show and prove.

Back than I was also known for battling. I battled everybody. All the greats. Fracture came by at the height of his career and Said I was the nicest on the site. I still remember that.

Moral of the story, im still at it and im still influencing your favorite writers

Diode 11-04-2013 03:39 PM

lol @ lama learned from RNR

no. he was up theory's ass @ b-boys after he broke away from PR with bragginwrites

Frank 11-05-2013 11:24 PM

Lama gravitated towards the other boards once he had learned enough from Krupp. True Story.
@Lars@barondmynd@clutterbuck

confirmation on these events and the accuracy of their claim.

baron who taught you

*shots fired*

Brian Bryan 11-06-2013 03:49 AM

lmao first off, lama posted at RnR occasionally, MAY HAVE POSSIBLY asked Krupp for vB help but that's about it

I wouldn't go anywhere near so far as to say Jay was his mentor

I was influenced by a lot of what I read, as we all are either conscious or subconsciously, but Sordswinga was my first major influence. I've always loved multi-heavy pieces. abolish and tha illest/salvation were the next to sort of give me advice, but it was more so just to write how I wanted because at the time I wrote in a really punchline-heavy broken-down-bar style as they called it... they would both send me verses every couple of days and give me a deadline of a few hours to turn a piece around, so it got me to think quick and write a lot, but they didn't really influence my style - more so just taught me as a kid that my individuality was unique and that writing to fit in with what the rest of the board was doing wasn't going to help me in the long term... I suppose the last major influence of mine was Rikoshay, I found him REALLY REALLY late into the game, wish i'd stumbled across him 8 years earlier and we had crewed up or w/e because he had the infinite multi-strings of Sordswinga, coupled with that writers voice and originality of Abolish and Sal, mine and Riko's styles aren't similar, but there are definitely similarities in how we don't take topics literally, we love crafting tightly compacted rhymeschemes, can run with multi-strings for days, and have strong writers voices. they probably aren't everyones idea of who influenced who because Sord, Abolish and Sal are pretty unknown to the people around today, but I loved almost everything I ever read from those guys. true legends and formidable writers.

Frank 11-06-2013 05:06 AM

Tell them about the piece about mum

Lars 11-07-2013 10:55 AM

I remember the first two lines of it

that's about all I remember

don't think its archived anywhere tbh
