@YDK and @breathless, thank you for the votes. I wanted to take a second to explain to you my verse's relevance to the topic, though. Basically, I went with a very literal interpretation of the painting. The culmination of my story is Botticelli's scene.

Quote:

Ripping every shred of clothing she'd ever lent me off my body.
I stormed out past the boardwalk, past the staring bitches and bros.
At one point, saw Vicki. She tried to give me some clothes.
But I needed to be clean. I needed release. That's what this week was for.
Julia chasing after me, as though I'd ever forgive this cheating whore.

I don't begrudge you at all for voting for patrown, who had an amazing verse that I thought deserved better. Thanks for voting.

YOU MEAN THE NARRATOR WASN'T TRYING TO BONE VIKI ?????????????????!

Certain 10-14-2013 03:21 AM

No one is trying to bone Vicki. Julia was the hottie. Look at her, with those pouty lips and supple breasts.

Plus you can tell she's ridiculously flexible. That leg is coming out of nowhere.

Frank 10-14-2013 03:49 AM

VIKI GOT GRANNY PANNIES NIGGA SO WHAT

NIGGA CALLING HER VICKY HAHAHA THATS VENUS U DUMB FUCK

Lmao. That shit cray. I wanna explain my shits now. But I won't. I'd rather live up to my name. That comes easier. Lol

I just realized I've been shortening vividlyvague to Vag... Totally intentional dude, but shit, I'm gonna keep doing it now. Let it be known though, my mind speech pronounces it with a hard A and non-j sounding G...

And thanks certain, I'm sorta surprised I didn't catch that, I get it now, still woulda voted for pat, although it woulda been much closer

breathless 10-14-2013 06:57 AM

Here's the audio for my piece. Gotta say though, I meant this as more of a modernized take on a guy growing up in Toledo with common struggles, not personal style. My dad's never been a drinker or abusive, and my mom smokes weed daily while knitting and doing crossword puzzles. I tried to throw myself in the mindstate of someone who was living with those issues, sort of written in third personal I guess...

They're up.

Zen 10-14-2013 11:08 AM

Guys I'm cool with NYC coming away with the W if that's what the voters wanted, but by one vote? Least let it by two votes.

PancakeBrah 10-14-2013 11:12 AM

I no showed Mike Wrecka in the WCL out of fear . true story

Mike Wrecka 10-14-2013 11:18 AM

Zenland im sorry bro but we are not holding up the league for anyone

me and Certain would have done the same if it was us losing by one. even in the result of a tie at the end of the voting period , the very next vote wins. we do not abide by the win by two policy here.

that's the downside of the league being on a strict schedule. but I think the advantages by far outweigh the disadvantages of this structure

the me vs mr. j battle was week 1 when we didn't really have a policy for ties in place. it has been in the rules and guidelines since week 2 though. once again sorry bro. look at it like this, win by two is street ball, we are professionals , the NBA so to speak.

Zen 10-14-2013 11:32 AM

I hate this new rule and I'm gonna write a four letter essay explaining why I hate it. Be expecting it.

Frank (1-1) vs. YDK (1-1)

I thought both writers connected with the subject well.

YDK - This was my favorite part, I really liked the word play in this part, it fit the subject very well. I believe you did a great job of describing what gambling is really about and how it can destroy peoples lives if they let it.

"I've caused many men to perish hidden distant in time,
I gave you faith when others suffered; so I tripled your dime.
Crippled by selfishness i'll drive a spade through your heart,
With the promise of diamonds that I gave from the start.
You couldn't count the amount of blood I'm responsible for shedding,
But I never lifted a finger yet i lingered amongst the betting."

Frank - This was my favorite part, again I liked the wordplay used on the subject. You also did well at connecting with the scene by describing the nature of gambling. I liked that you added some detail about the game as well.

"''I aint convinced I’m a convict..
In conflict with the grimiest cons on the continent..."
consequence in each contest
He said "I got five maybe six and a poss, shiit.. lets just say 6 books
Oh and Frank.. I needa copy of your 6th book""

This was hard to decide because both pieces seemed to be on point in my opinion. Although I would say I liked the way YDKs poem flowed, it just seemed a little smoother to me.
